Privacy Policy

Pocketful of Tips ("we", "us") is a Canadian service. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account information: your email address, used only to send you sign-in links.
- Profile information: the display name and optional one-line context you choose. These are public.
- Tips and suggestions you submit, including any product names or links you add.
- Votes: whether a tip helped you or didn't work for you. Your individual votes are private. Only the total "helped" count is shown publicly; "didn't work for me" votes are never displayed.
- Contact messages: your email, optional name and message, when you use the Contact page.
- Product link clicks: when you click a product link, we record which tip it came from and when. We don't link this to your account.
- Technical data: basic server logs (such as IP address and browser type) kept by our hosting providers for security and reliability.
Health information
Tips often reveal that someone lives with a health condition. Anything you include in a published tip, along with your display name and context line, is public. Please don't share details you'd rather keep private, and consider using a display name that doesn't identify you.
How we use it
- To run the site: sign you in, publish and rank tips, and review submissions.
- To respond to your messages and requests.
- To understand which tips and products people find useful, in aggregate.
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not use your information for advertising or ad targeting.
Cookies and storage
We use only what's needed to keep you signed in and remember basic settings. We don't use advertising cookies. We don't currently use third-party analytics; if that changes, we'll update this policy first.
Where your data is stored
Our database and sign-in system are hosted by Supabase through Lovable Cloud. Data may be stored and processed outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local laws.
Sharing
We share personal information only with the service providers needed to run Pocketful of Tips (hosting, database and sign-in email delivery). When you follow a product or affiliate link, you leave our site and the retailer's own privacy policy applies.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account. When you delete your account, you can choose whether your published tips are removed or kept without your display name. Send requests through our Contact page (choose "Privacy or data request"). We'll respond within 30 days. We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Age
Pocketful of Tips is not directed at children. You must be 18 or older to create an account. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
We'll update the "Last updated" date above when this policy changes, and note material changes on this page.
