These terms apply to your use of Pocketful of Tips (the "Service"), operated by Pocketful of Tips ("we", "us"). By using the Service, you agree to these terms.
Who can use Pocketful of Tips
Anyone can browse the site. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, submit tips, vote or contact us with a suggestion.
What Pocketful of Tips is
A crowdsourced and editor-curated library of practical tips, research notes, stories and guides for living with chronic conditions. It is not a medical service. Please read our Disclaimer before relying on anything you read here.
Your account
You sign in with a link sent to your email address. Keep access to your email secure; you're responsible for activity under your account. Your display name and optional one-line context are shown publicly next to tips you share, so don't use your full name or details you'd rather keep private.
Sharing a tip
When you submit a tip, you confirm that:
- It describes your own experience, in your own words.
- It doesn't copy text from someone else or another website.
- It doesn't include medication, supplement or dosage advice, or claim that something treats, cures or heals a condition.
- It doesn't include personal information about other people.
- It isn't advertising, and you aren't being paid to promote the product you mention. If you have a connection to a product, tell us in your tip.
Moderation
Every tip is reviewed before it's published. We may edit tips for length, clarity, safety or formatting, add or change tags, attach or remove product links, or decline or remove any tip at any time, for any reason.
Your content and our licence
You keep ownership of the tips you write. By submitting a tip, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to publish, display, edit, adapt and share it as part of the Service and in materials that promote the Service, with your display name. You can ask us to remove a published tip at any time through the Contact page.
Votes and helpfulness
Votes are used to rank tips. Don't manipulate votes, for example by using multiple accounts or automated tools.
Acceptable use
Don't misuse the Service. That includes trying to access other people's accounts or data, interfering with the site, scraping content in bulk, posting harmful, hateful, harassing or misleading content, or using the Service for unlawful purposes.
Affiliate links
Some product links are affiliate links and may earn us a commission. This never affects which tips are published or how they're ranked. See our affiliate disclosure.
Termination
We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. You can close your account at any time through the Contact page.
No warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by the laws of Ontario and Canada, we are not liable for any decisions you make based on content on the Service, or for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll change the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
